Mike and Jenny Ford

The last few days have brought us the news of the deaths, both peacefully at home and just a couple of days apart, of Jenny and Mike Ford. Jenny and Mike were devoted to each other and, while such news is always sad, there is some comfort in being able to remember them together, both at the same time.

Jenny was Club Secretary for several years and a dedicated and thoughtful fundraiser for the Club, whose red apron and bright ideas continue to illuminate our fundraising efforts today. Mike was our greenkeeper for many years and he also ran a visually impaired bowling group. Mike was a skilful bowler winning, among other titles, the Committee Cup awarded to the men's singles champion on no fewer than five occasions - in 2001, 2002, 2013, 2015 and 2017 - and he had continued to bowl following their move to Dorchester to be nearer to family. Together, Mike and Jenny compiled our centenary history which members' treasure and which continues to be a regular download from this website.

Our thoughts are very much with Mike and Jenny's family.
