Fantastic Five

The Whitchurch and District 'Fantastic Five' competition is now in its second season; and this year Andover Bowling Club has entered two teams.

The format is a mixed team of five players (two of one gender and three of the other) starting with 12 ends of a singles game and 8 ends of a rinks game. Two points are awarded for a win and one for a draw. Following on from that, there is 10 ends of three wood pairs and a two wood triples. The pairs and triples can be played by one gender or mixed. If there is a draw after all disciplines have been played, the triples will play a one end shoot-out to decide the winner.

The full rules can be found via a shared dropbox folder, linked to from the competitions page on the W&D website.

Our two teams first games are due to be played by 19th July. One will be against Aldermaston or Littleton away; and the other a home fixture against Alton.

If you are interested in playing, let Gordon Bazley know by the usual routes and he will put together a list of names and sort out selection in conjunction with Jackie Kingston.
