This was a new internal Club competition for 2026, taking place on a Wednesday afternoon and kicking off on 13 May. Six teams were drawn up - Bees, Butterflies, Caterpillars, Crickets, Grasshoppers and Wasps; see the attachment at the bottom of the page for the full details.
The intention was that triples from each team would play each other twice during the season over 14 ends; the winning team scoring two points for the victory and drawn matches seeing both teams gain one point. In practice, the hot summer and associated cancellations meant that some teams did not play a full complement of games.
At the close of the season, Crickets topped the table with seven wins from their nine games, scoring 129 shots and conceding 94 for a shot difference of +30, one point ahead of Bees in second who, in turn, were a further one point ahead of Butterflies in third. With only eight games played, it was a question of what-ifs for Butterflies. Nevertheless, sincere congratulations to Crickets on their inaugurating win of this competition and to their captain, Shirley Stoten.
