Andover Lions have this evening won the Salisbury & District Men's League!

Lions took the League with a great result in the final fixture at home by beating Wilton 80-60. In second place prior to the fixture, Lions needed to win to overhaul Pewsey Red - and the result was no foregone conclusion as Wilton have been competitive at the top end of the league.for some time, being in third prior to the fixture. In terms of the match outcome, Lions won by 4.5 to 1.5: a dominant result.

Lions ended the season with 11 wins from 14 games - by far the best record in the league - and topped Pewsey Red by 3 points, with a total of 55 points. With more than 1,000 shots, and only 775 against, for an overall shot difference of +250 and a 73-55 advantage in each match on average, Lions are worthy champions. Hearty congratulations in particular to team captain Mick Corden and all the rest of the team; and commiserations to Pewsey Red who finish as runners-up, as well as our thanks to all the rest of teams participating in the league.

What a result!
