This week saw Steve Baker, Andover Bowling Club president, hand over a cheque to Emma and Shirlie of Jacksplace @ Naomi House in respect of the monies raised by Club members on this year's President's Day, which took place on Sunday 1 June.

The cheque was for a fantastic £501, representing the proceeds from green fees on the day, a well-supported raffle and a cake baked by a neighbour of one of our members.

Steve, in handing over the cheque to Emma and Shirlie, said he was 'thoroughly delighted. Jacksplace and Naomi House is a major part of our local community which we have helped support for a number of years. I'm really proud of the efforts and the generosity of our members which we know will assist Jacksplace as it continues its vital work here in Andover.'

The Andover Advertiser covered President's Day; do click this link to read its report of what we were up to (with an earlier estimate of the sum raised).
