Open Day - Saturday 3 May @ 10 am
Andover Bowling Club
As readers might have noted already from the banner adjacent to Vigo Park by the museum roundabout (sadly now down but see photo attached) and from Club communications, as well as from the feature in the Advertiser, this coming Saturday sees the Club's annual Open Day.
For those who are not already members of the Club, this is your chance to come along and try your hand at bowling on a real green. No equipment needed – we’ll supply the bowls – all you’ll need is a pair of flat shoes and an interested and enquiring mind!
The Club’s own supportive, proficient and qualified coaches will be on hand to give advice and tips on how to deliver the perfect bowl; and a variety of Club members with a wide range of experience, from those who joined the Club only last year to those who have several decades in the game, will also be there to help you get the most out of the morning.
The Open Day starts at 10 am and will end at 1 pm – whatever your age or ability, you are welcome to come along at any time between those hours and to stay for as long as you like. The Club is friendly and inclusive - and every single one of us started by bowling our first bowl somewhere.
We look forward to seeing you there.
PS 9 May: We had great coverage of the day in this week's Advertiser. If you missed the Open Day, or are still thinking about it, or have seen the coverage and fancy a go, why not come along on Tuesday night for Club Night? We meet at about 5.45 and can guarantee a welcome which is just as warm. Alternatively, Saturday mornings are built around coaching sessions for new bowlers and this ca nbe as formal or as informal sa you like. Come along and have a go!
