At this week's Council meeting (on 3 December) - due to take place in Andover but shifted to Romsey - a full meeting of Test Valley Borough Council agreed the recommendation to approve the proposals for the improvement of Vigo Park as part of the package of proposals in the Andover Masterplan geared towards the regeneration of Andover town centre. The proposals include the provision of a new Andover Bowls Club Clubhouse with community space.

The Club's Committee has worked closely with the Council as part of TVBC's public consultation over the plans for Vigo Park, and we are delighted with the Council's decision. Further engagement with the community will take place from next month, with work due to commence in September next year before completion and handover of the new building, due in October 2027. The scheme is forecast to cost £3.5m, with the money comng from the New Homes Bonus Reserve (essentially, a grant to the council from central government).

We will be continung to work with the Council as consultations continue and plans for the building are finalised (along with the rest of the improvements to Vigo Park). We will keep members updated on the next stages.
