If it's the first weekend in February, it must be the John Ash Trophy - and a team of ten from Andover are heading tomorrow and, we hope, on Sunday to represent Andover Bowling Club and to defend the title that we won in 2025.

The competition last year was hard-fought - you can catch up with our report on the weekend here - and we are expecting no less this year. 2025 was the first time we had won this Trophy since 2006 and it is a tough weekend of bowling - qualification takes place on the Saturday, with matches taking place for Andover in 2025 at 9am, 12 noon, 2pm and 5pm (each of six ends), followed by a semi-final at 1030 on Sunday (10 ends) and the final at 2pm.(18 ends).

The competition takes place at Five Rivers Indoor Bowling Club, which is on Tollgate Road in Salisbury (SP1 2JJ) and about a mile broadly south-east of the railway station. Visitors and supporters are absolutely welcome. Good luck and true arms to all our bowlers!
