Clubhouse

Members will be aware of the proposed new Clubhouse, to be built as part of the Vigo Park regeneration aspects of the Andover Masterplan. This was approved by Test Valley Borough Council at its meeting on 3 December. Our own story broke the news to members; while you can also catch up with TVBC's announcement, with the Andover Advertiser covering it in similar terms.

The Clubhouse will be built together with community facilities that include a water play area nearby, a refreshment kiosk and
public toilets. All together the budget for the scheme is £3.5million which includes a contingency of £0.35m.

The scheme is being undertaken on behalf of the Council by Alliance Leisure who have experience in providing sports facilities. The building will be of a ‘modular’ type where a lot of the construction takes place away from the site to allow quicker assembly.

The Council have recently met with Club representatives to discuss the next steps and involve us in the design of the bowls facilities. We hope to be discussing our thoughts with the design team in the next six weeks.

The approximate timetable is as follows:-

1. Site investigations to inform the necessary groundworks during January and February 2026.
2. Planning application and the necessary surveys during April and May 2026.
3. A start on site this September 2026.

All in all a very positive start to our new Clubhouse! We intend to communicate regularly with members as the plans advance, so please make sure you keep checking back here on a regular basis.
