Basingstoke & District League

Basingstoke & District

This association is open to affiliation from any bowling club within a 20 mile radius of Basingstoke and there are 15 bowling clubs currently affiliated, with some clubs entering more than one team. This competition consists of two types of league: each divided into two divisions, with the bottom two in the higher division and the top two in the lower one subject to relegation and promotion at the end of each season.

Basingstoke Triples (also called the Monday League)

This team is captained by Dave Canniford and is a mixed team open to all bowlers. Matches are played on a Monday evening.

For 2025, Andover plays in Division 2.

For each fixture, the team puts out three triples with each match consisting of 18 ends.

 

Basingstoke Rinks (also called the Friday League)

This team is captained by Trevor Crago and is open to men only. For 2025, Andover plays in Division 2.

For each fixture the team puts out two rinks (i.e. of four bowlers) with each match consisting of 18 ends.

 

Basingstoke Women’s League

This team is led by Linda Sturt. The format is triples, with each team consisting of two triples, and clubs entering the competition are divided into two groups: in 2024, Andover were matched with Old Basing, Kingsclere, 'Fairfields' (Basingstoke Town), 'Robins' (Howard Park) and Hook. Matches are played on Tuesday evenings.
