President's Day 2024

President's Day this year, like most years, was another fun day for club members. Some club members took it really seriously by dressing up in a variety of fancy dress costumes. We played a game of bowls but with a twist, indeed turning the game back to front: the woods were delivered and then the team skip had the responsibility of delivering the jack, facing 180 degrees away from the rink and from between their feet. We found ourselves being contortionists, as some of the pictures show! The President's chosen charity this year was Naomi House and Jacksplace, a  children's hospice based in Sutton Scotney. As seems to be normal, members' generosity was significant and, with 30 members playing, we raised a fantastic £469. A big thank you to all for the donations of food and raffle prizes. To the ladies that worked so hard getting the food out, a big thank you.
