County & District Games

Andover Bowling Club is going to the County Area Final in the Mixed Top Club competition

We have earned our place in the Mixed Top Club Area final after beating Atherly 4-1.

Our team of 11 - 6 men and 5 ladies - all played well securing our place in the Area final against Sports Centre played on Sunday 13 August. It's a 10 a.m. start at Banister Park Southampton.

The competition is played over five disciplines - Men and Ladies Singles; a Mixed Pair; a Triple; and a Mixed Rink. A win is secured by winning at least 3 of the disciplines.

Supporters will be very welcome. The kitchen and bar will be open and food can be pre-ordered on the day if required. If you have never been to Banister Park, come along and get a taste of what Hampshire’s County home is like.

Hants and Berks Cup Final

Our men won through to the Area Final of this competition against Alton Social; unfortunately, we were beaten on all rinks, but it's a great achievement to make it to the final. Congratulations to all our players.

Herbie Turner - Men's Salisbury and District Competition

Our men's Lions team won through to the final to take on Pewsey Reds.  It was a very close game, ending in a tie, so an extra end had to be played, which our Lions team won.

Tony Alcock Trophy

This is a National 2 x mixed rink competition. Andover played Cove at home in the semi-final of Hampshire North/East Area on Saturday 24 June. It was a very good, closely contested game; unfortunately, Andover came 2nd, losing the game overall by just 4 shots.

Our two rinks were skipped by Janet Williamson (score 12/13) and Robin Kingston (score 12/15). A very good effort by all the team.

Our ladies are doing well in the County Competitions.
